Hello. I am 28 years old. I have been divorced for a couple of years now. The home I currently live in is a mobile home with 3/b 2/b. I have lived here for 8 years. When you break it up, 8 years at $525.00 a month for something I will never own adds up to a lot of money. I also pay all of my own utilities including natural gas. I have never been late on rent. I have never been late on a utility bill. I have purchased 2 cars with cash. I have never had a credit card. What do I do? I need a home. I have thrown out so much money twards rent it makes me sick but I can't get anyone to help me or even consider to help me get a loan. I have tried real estate agents, I have tried mobile home places but to no avail. The only thing bad I have as far as I know is medical bills but I am paying on them. I just need to stop throwing away money every month so I can build a better future for my little girl and I. Please, if anyone has any advice it would be great.

The renters upstairs have been my friends for a long time and they needed an apartment so we rented to them for $535 a month. Just from some light browsing on the internet, it seems like they (the advertisers/car manufacturers) want us to believe that $30k is a reasonable median cost for a new car in the U.S. The price goes up disporportionately if they can call it a 'crossover' or the holy grail: SUV!!! $$$$$$$$ Assuming a person makes around $50k a year gross/ $30k a year net (is that a reasonable assumption for the U.S.?), and assuming the car will be worth close to $0 in 5 years, a $30k car works out to be around 20% of his or her income, not including gas repairs insurance et cetera. Is this reasonable? Is it sustainable? Are we heading for a 'correction' in auto pricing? or is the plan that we all just use financing tricks to perpetuate these exhorbitant prices?

I'll do my best to summarize my situation, and am using estimates for days and amounts... I received a quote for auto insurance for $590 for a 6 month period from an independent auto agent. When I received my insurance policy and premium price it way nearly double (over $1,100). I cancelled the policy within a week after receiving the huge increase in premiums. Because of the time it took for me to receive my new premium and the 5-7 days for me to cancel, I received a bill for an amount due of roughly $40.00. My question is, why am I responsible, and how am I responsible for the premium that is so much higher than what I was quoted? i was involved in a car accident. i was at the wheel and the insurance company that insures the car has placed me at fault. i am not the owner, but claim that i had permission from the owner to use the car and therefore, under california law, should not be liable for the damages. the owner is fully insured. i tried to settle this by paying for the deductable. shortly after i submitted a check to the owner he changed his statement to his insurance company and claimed that he in fact hadnt given me permission to use the vehicle (I have a scanned copy of the check with clearing information from my bank). i am now being threatened by two insurance companies: 1) the insurer of the other party involved (this claim is on me, the owner, and his insurer) & 2) the insurer of the car i was driving. what are my options? how can i attempt to prove that he did give me the necessary explicit or implicit permission to use his automobile?

I have never been late on a utility bill. I have purchased 2 cars with cash. I have never had a credit card. What do I do? I need a home. I have thrown out so much money twards rent it makes me sick but I can't get anyone to help me or even consider to help me get a loan. I have tried real estate agents, I have tried mobile home places but to no avail. The only thing bad I have as far as I know is medical bills but I am paying on them. I just need to stop throwing away money every month so I can build a better future for my little girl and I. Please, if anyone has any advice it would be great.

I drive a 97 Ford Taurus and the cost of a deductible if I were to have full coverage would exceed the value of this old car- so I only have liability. My coverage is 50/100/25. I'm 25, my husband is 22, we have no accidents on our record, are good students and have absolutely no assets whatsoever. I'm beginning to wonder if we have more insurance than we need. My wife and I are looking for health insurance. I am self-employed, and her company does not offer insurance for it's employees. So we've been looking into family plans. We're married with no children. But, we'd like to have children soon. Like, maybe next month if it all works out. :) I've looked into plans from various companies like Anthem, and most of the companies don't even offer maternity coverage. And the ones that do have a 9-12 month waiting period before the maternity coverage kicks in! And too top it all off, it's ridiculously expensive! Anyone have any ideas? We live in Ohio.
