Ive been with my current insurer for a couple of years. I got a speeding fine (3 points) in the summer of 2007. I stupidly didnt declare it with my insurer and missed it off on my renewal. I am now leaving them and going elsewhere and want to come clean and list this conviction in my quote. My question is........ WIll the new company check with the old company about my insurance with them and any convictions? If so will they notice the discrepency and tell my old insurer?

Can I just get my driver's license and not drive the vehicle? Because I know if you drive a car you need insurance, but what if I just have my license and am not driving anything? Also, I heard about this family policy that if I'm driving a parent's car with my driver's license I'm covered under THEIR insurance? Im having some mechanical problems with my car that Im financing, and I am too young to rent a car while its in the shop, so Im considering buying a cheap car to get me by until I can fix it. The car that was insured was scrapped in January but the insurance is still running. Can I cancel the policy and get my money back? It was with Admiral and I paid the whole amount up front. Policy expires in August 2012. Also, I have just bought a new car and want that insured. Can I transfer it onto the Admiral policy, or am I better off cancelling everything and starting from scratch?
